Effective Remedies for Common Illnesses

The following strategies or remedies have proven to be extremely effective in mediating and stopping the onset and severity of common socially transmitted illnesses such as cold and flu.

Wash hands......
A large percentage of common illnesses are transmitted via physical contact, especially hand to hand then hand to face contact. Avoid physical contact with ill people whenever possible. If you must make physical contact with ill people, avoid touching your face after contact until after thoroughly washing your hands with soap and water.

H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide)
An 80+% successful treatment for flu/colds infection has been buried for over 80 years. In 1928 Richard Simmons, M.D. discovered that using H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) successful treated the onset of colds and flu virus, and is especially effective when used in the early stages of infection. Dr. Simmons hypothesized that colds and flu virus enter through the ear canal. Unfortunately his findings were dismissed by the medical community at the time. According to Dr. Simmons, contrary to what you may think or have been taught about how you catch the flu or the cold, there is only one way that you can catch these illnesses is via the ear canal, not through the eyes, nose or mouth as commonly believed.

Keeping your fingers out of your ears will greatly reduce your chances of catching these illnesses, according to Dr. Simmons, but then again these are microscopic, can be air-born and may land on or even in your ear. Once they have entered the ear they begin the proliferation process, from there they have access to every avenue throughout the body to infect and make us ill.

Remarkable, results were found to cure the flu & cold within 12 to 14 hours when administering a few drops of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) into each ear (sometimes only one ear is affected). The H2O2 starts working within 2 to 3 minutes by killing (attenuating) the flu or cold virus. There will be some bubbling and in some cases mild stinging. Wait until the bubbling subside (usually 5 to 10 min) then drain and repeat other ear. A bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide in 3% solution is inexpensive and available at any drug store.

Another popular theory is that cold and flu pathogens enter primarily through the soft mucus membranes in the back of the throat. This path hypothesis seems much more likely to me. Similar illness mediation results have been experienced by gargling with 3% Hydrogen Peroxide immediately after early scratchy symptoms appear in the throat as this symptom seems to nearly always precede a cold or flu infection. With this strategy, the sooner hydrogen peroxide gargle treatment after symptoms are noticed the better. I have experienced excellent results using this strategy.

Important note!
If one maintains optimal health, these illnesses have no chance against a robust immune system. In short, achieving and maintaining optimal health is the best defense against all illness and disease...   

Zinc... A powerful mediation mineral for the common viral infections cold/flu
Zinc has demonstrated in many scientific studies to inhibit the reproduction of viruses and may promote the production of virus-fighter interferon. To determine the effectiveness of zinc as a treatment for the common cold, Sherif B. Mossad, M.D. and colleagues studied 100 patients in Cleveland. Patients treated received zinc gluconate lozenges during the 24 hour period after contracting a cold. They continued to dissolve the lozenges in their mouths every 2 hours while awake until all cold symptoms had gone away. The results of the Cleveland Clinic study, published in the Annals of Internal Medicine (1996;125:81-88), showed a significantly shorter duration of symptoms (4.4 days vs. 7.6 days) in patients taking the zinc lozenges compared to those who were given placebo (non-zinc) lozenges. The results of this study is promising and could lead to significant economic savings in terms of lost wages and labor as well as increased playtime for those who are released earlier from the clutches of these common viral illness infections.

Vitamin C

There is no doubt that vitamin C in large doses has value against the common cold. Dr. Pauling recommends not 1 gram or 2 grams a day of vitamin C but at the first sign of a cold, take 1-2 grams of vitamin C each waking hour until you forget because the symptoms have disappeared.

Garlic
Garlic is one of the more popular home cures for colds. Many cultures have a home remedy for the cold using garlic, whether itís chicken soup with lots of garlic, a drink made with raw crushed garlic, or if it just involves eating raw garlic. The cold-fighting compound in garlic is Allicin, which has demonstrated anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Allicin is what gives garlic the distinctive smell and hot flavor. To maximize the amount of Allicin, fresh garlic should be chopped or crushed and it should be consumed raw, not cooked. Itís also available in pill form.

In a study involving 146 people, participants received either a garlic supplement or a placebo for 12 weeks between November and February. People who took garlic reduced the risk of catching a cold by more than half. The study also found that garlic reduced the recovery time in people who are infected with a cold as well.

Garlic does have some negative or offensive side effects. Bad breath and body odor are perhaps the most common side effects, however, dizziness, sweating, headache, fever, chills and runny nose have also been reported but these symptoms could be mistaken for natural detoxification purging associated with healing from these illnesses. These illnesses/symptoms are frequently a result of systemic toxic accumulation. These symptoms largely disappear when toxic overloads are eliminated. Large amounts of garlic may irritate the mouth or result in indigestion. Garlic supplements should avoided by people with bleeding disorders, two weeks before or after surgery, or by those taking "blood-thinning" medications such as Warfarin (Coumadin) or supplements believed to affect blood clotting such as vitamin E, garlic or ginkgo. Garlic may also lower blood glucose levels and increase the release of insulin, so it should be used with caution by people taking drugs that lower blood sugar. People with allergies to plants in the lily family (including onion, leeks and chives) should avoid garlic. Pregnant women should avoid garlic in supplement form because it may increase the risk of bleeding.

Recommended step by step solution
To avoid contacting or at the first sign of cold/flu symptoms, scratchy or a sore throat start the below activities immediately by following the above directions;
1. Avoid any physical contact with ill people
  a. Hand to hand then hand to face contact
  b. Kissing ill people
2. Wash Hands
  a. Immediately after physical contact with anyone
3. Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)
  a. Ears
  b. Gargle
4. Zink
  a. Zink gluconate lozenges
5. Vitamin C
  a. Time release with bioflavonoids is best
6. Garlic
  a. Raw organic is best (those who are allergic - caution)
7. Water
  a. Drink 1/2-3/4 of an ounce of liquid daily for every pound of bodyweight
