Cellular biology, toxicity, degeneration, illness, disease and death
Cellular activity produces acid which is the natural metabolic waste byproducts
of cellular energy production. As each cell performs its task of respiration the
end product is cellular metabolic waste acid. These acids are used for biological
energy. An example of this is lactic acid, which is produced during exercise. The
body must go to great lengths to neutralize the toxic properties of these acids
before they act as poisons and successfully change the chemically balanced cellular
environment.
While it is true most clinical practitioners believe the immune system is the
body's first line of defense it could be more accurately described as a very
sophisticated clean-up service. If we are interested in attaining and maintaining
ultimate health we must look instead at the importance of internal biological pH
balance as the first line of defense against illness, disease and for health,
fitness and vitality.
Proper internal biochemical pH balance fosters an environment of optimum
biological performance, ultimate health and an unsuitable environment for
pathogenic proliferation. Fungus, yeast and are single celled life forms
which inhabit the water, soil, air, and many if not all of the agents we
consume. These microorganisms are more highly developed than the intermediate
states of bacteria or the early stages of viruses. Over the years, they have
mutated into over 500,000 different species. Many posses incredible adaptive
capabilities and could be accurately described as opportunists and/or survivalists.
Most are constantly seeking out new ways to adapt and colonies themselves colonize
and proliferate. Because they are single celled, they can only be seen under a
microscope, however after colonizing they can be seen as mushrooms, and molds.
Pathogens like yeast, fungus, bacteria, mold, and viruses tend to colonize
in very select locations in the body, depending on their particular nutritional
requirements and colonization conditions. All are capable of causing severe
fermentation through the by-products of their metabolism, which makes them
potentially extremely damaging to our health. They generally enter the extra
cellular fluid and/or the bloodstream which provides transport and are distributed
throughout the body. This pathogenic microbial proliferation contributes tremendously
to the over-acidification of the blood and/or tissues which systemically poisons and
destroys the cells of the body. This condition is called acidosis and is a direct
result of incorrect eating habits like eating an abundance of animal protein
(especially red meat and pork), dairy products (milk, cheese, ice cream), sugar
in any form (sucrose, fructose, glucose). Because of these facts, it is said that,
there is only one sickness and one disease, (acidosis). There is however thousands
of different symptoms of the single disease acidosis.
The primary source of nourishment for fungus, yeast, and bacteria is sugar.
As these organisms feed off the sugar and proteins of our bodies they excrete waste
called toxins. These toxins negatively affect us physically, emotionally, and in many
other ways. The solution to this toxic build-up problem is to cleanse the blood and
nourish the cells. The proper way to do this is by eliminating those foods which are
acid forming and by eating more foods that are alkaline forming. These pathogenic
microorganisms can only survive in an acid base, not in an alkaline base. It is
extremely important that the proper ratio between acid an alkaline foods in the diet
be consumed. The ideal ratio in a normal body is 4 parts alkaline to 1 part acid which
will allow the body to maintain a pH factor of 7.365.
To avoid a timely chemistry lesson, I will summarize as follows. pH refers to the
relative concentration of Hydrogen (H+) ions in a solution. Low pH values indicate
higher concentrations of Hydrogen ions or acids, and high pH values indicate low
concentrations of Hydrogen ions or alkaline. For example, 10 to -1 is more acidic
than 10 to -14.
An ideal ultimate health diet should consist of dark green and yellow vegetables,
soy beans, sprouted grains, nuts, and essential fatty acids. Adopting this way of
eating as a habit would reduce your susceptibility to internal biochemical toxic
build-up, provide ample detoxification, and reduce or prevent future exposures
allowing for cellular regeneration leading to "ultimate health" and "wellness."
Now that you have been exposed to the true facts about pH, and internal
biochemical balance, I hope it is easier to understand that if you keep
your internal biochemistry in balance the likely hood of the onset of any
degenerative condition and/or disease is very unlikely.
