Gallbladder Cleans/Detoxification Program

Note: The gallbladder has been referred to as the trash can for the liver. This reference can help us understand why an overloaded gallbladder can cause so many health problems. The gallbladder excretes bile which is an emulsifying agent that assists in the digestion of fats.

The gallbladder holds potentially toxic heavy metals, chemicals and many other waste products filtered from the blood by the liver. The largest supply of waste material in the gallbladder is usually cholesterol. Cholesterol serves the internal healing process as a type of patching material. These cholesterol deposits are formed as a result of many types of internal injuries like excessive stress (high blood pressure) and the loss of tissue integrity due to a deficiency of anti-oxidant nutrients such as astaxanthin, vitamin A, C and E in the bloodstream.

Over time, excess cholesterol plaque deposits can flake away and flow through the bloodstream until they are filtered out by the liver and stored in the gallbladder. After this transfer occurs, a sticky, waxy residue forms in the gallbladder. As the gallbladder fills with this cholesterol plaque, the elimination flow from the liver can be reduced or blocked. In this event toxins can accumulate in the liver and throughout the body until the gallbladder is cleared. A healthy gallbladder transfers toxins and used cholesterol into the intestinal tract for elimination. The quicker this elimination occurs the better. Unfortunately, a compromised/unhealthy or clogged gallbladder doesn't do its job effectively causing many toxic backup and accumulation problems like a clogged sewer waste pipe.

Gallbladder cleansing can be done effectively with a gallbladder flush described below. After performing a gallbladder flush, it is prudent to follow the procedure immediately with a liver cleanse. In fact it is best to do a liver cleans prior to a gallbladder flush/cleans. It may be obvious by now but that the gallbladder and liver function together intimately, one cleans/filters (liver) and the other (gallbladder) holds/stores waste/toxins for immediate elimination. Other than gallstones, these two organs should be cleaned in close secession to get the maximum cleans.

Gallbladder Cleansing Foods:
It's important to avoid eating all fatty and highly refined foods with artificial additives during a gallbladder cleanse/detoxification.

During the cleanse use alkalizing foods, in a ratio of at least 4:1 over acid-forming foods. Below are foods to eat and not eat for gallbladder health.

  • Artificial Preservatives

  • Artificial Chemicals
  • Artificial Stabilizers
  • Carbohydrates

  • Processed Foods

  • Foods Helps Clean The Gallbladder (raw, fresh, organic is best);
  • Fruits
  • Vegetables
  • Unrefined Grains
  • Legumes
  • Artichoke

  • Foods That Help Gallstone Removal (raw, fresh, organic is best);
  • Pears
  • Parsnips
  • Sea Vegetables
  • Limes
  • Lemons
  • Spice Turmeric
  • Radishes
  • Cleavers tea
  • Chamomile tea

  • Gallbladder Flush/Cleanse:
    Main Ingredients (makes 1 qt. or 1 liter); (All ingredients should be organic if possible)
    1. Distilled Water (steamed only) (24 oz. or ¾ qt./liter)
    2. Olive Oil (organic virgin cold-pressed only) (5-15 tbs., start with 5 and increase) (stimulates gallbladder & bile duct to contract powerfully and expelling solid particles kept in storage for years)
    3. Freshly squeezed juice from; Grapefruit (3-4 large, pink tastes best), 4-6 Lemons/Lime, 4-6 Apple or Orange juices
    4. EPSOM Salts = Magnesium Sulphate (2-3 tbs.) (strong laxative, may cause diarrhea-like symptoms) (relaxing smooth intestinal tract muscles and bile ducts)
    5. Garlic Clove (blended or juiced) (5-15 cloves, start with 5 and increase)
    6. Ginger Root (blended or juiced) (about 3-4" long)
    7. Cayenne Pepper (powder or tincture, starts mild and increase to as hot as you can one stand)

    Additional supplement benefits;
    1. L-Ornithine (non-protein amino acid, help sleep)
    2. Cramp Bark (nerve sedative, treats high blood pressure and circulatory conditions
    3. Fennel Seed (open obstructions of the liver, gall bladder and spleen)
    4. Catnip Herb (nourishes the stomach and nerves)
    5. Peppermint Leaf (dissolve gallstones, muscle relaxant and reduces inflammation)

    1. Quart Jar (glass) with rubber seal lid (Mason is excellent)
    2. Blender (any blender that blends fruits well will work)
    3. Juicer (Electric is best)

    Should drink as least 8 oz. of formula each day to start and increase up to 32 oz. (1 qt. or liter) each day for best results.

    Gallbladder Detoxification Program
    The following are prudent steps to a successful gallbladder cleansing program;
    1. Cleanse your gallbladder by drinking ample amounts of distilled water, olive oil, and citrus juice to flush both the liver and the gallbladder which will encourage bile production and flow. Herbs can help as well but selecting proper herbs listed above to depend on the amount of dysfunction and the length of time dysfunction has been present. There are many excellent herbal gallbladder & liver detoxification products available on the market.
    2. While cleansing the gallbladder, you should replenish the beneficial bacteria with probiotics to achieve healthy flora balance, which in turn helps the immune system operate at maximum efficiency.
