Anti-aging Program

Designing an ultimate, anti-aging program requires specific knowledge in several subjects. This article will cover some of the most important subjects relating to anti-aging, optimal health and their importance.

1. Mental attitude (life view & emotions)
2. Consumptive habits (diet)
3. Activity level (exercise)
4. Stress management (meditation)

While the above subjects are not the only topics important to longevity and health they are among the most relevant. Any optimal health restoration program must put strong emphasis on these subjects to enjoy any measure of success. The closest distance between two points is a straight line, its essential to focus attention on the most relevant subjects to achieve the best results in the shortest time possible. Achieving optimal health is no different.

What is health?
Health is the relative state of physical, mental, social and biological well-being. Good health is not merely the absence of illness and/or disease. I define optimal health as a state of biochemical and biological balance (synergy and homeostasis).

Age is simply a function of the accumulation of internal biological damage, pure and simple. Yes, aging and biological damage are synonymous. While aging/biological damage is a naturally occurring part of life, the pace of biological degeneration (age/accumulated biological damage) is to some degree manageable. In short, we can slow the progression but not stop the aging process. For example, it is commonly accepted by experts in the field that the maximum span/length of human life is around 120-140 year. With well over 100 years being the accepted maximum life span, why then don’t more humans live that long? The answer is relatively simple, humans do enormous damage to their bodies during life by chronically violating most if not all the principles of optimal health which results in permanent, premature biological damage/aging. Perhaps the most tragic fact is that most aren’t aware they are doing this damage while in process and never learn the facts revealed in this article. Unfortunately, most biological damage is permanent (not repairable). In fact, the best way to slow aging is to gain and remain internal biological balance which is by definition, optimal health.

Illness and disease
Most people make the mistake of believing that aging, illness and disease are part of life. While aging is natural, illness and disease are not and can be avoided by living a predominant optimally healthy lifestyle. It could be argued that after years of biological damage accumulation, illness and disease are inevitable. I submit that while the likelihood of illness and disease goes up as we age, it is not inevitable. In short, death is assured, illness and disease are not. In fact an optimally healthy body rarely if ever gets sick much less develops disease….

The information and facts presented in this article are a rough optimal health restoring plan outline. To take maximum advantage of this information, one must not only learn to master these subjects but habitually practice optimum health principles. This information seeks to shore up the foundational weakness in the current system being, inaccurate health information, commercial trickery and exploitation of a relatively uninformed and misinformed public plagued with illness and disease resulting from lack of self respect, discipline and factual health maintenance behavior information.

I firmly believe that humans have a duty in life to achieve personal excellence by utilizing our own unique set of skill. At the very top of the personal excellence goals list is optimal health. After all, health represents the foundation of our potential or lack there of. I have divided this program into four categories. While achieving optimal health is a very comprehensive subject, these four categories focus on what I believe are the most important subjects that we can realistically manage with specific education, discipline, tenacity and a well executed plan.

Keep in mind, currently optimal health is not common among the human population. In fact, less than 2% of humans could be described as optimally healthy and even in these rare cases it is not a life plan but rather a requirement of vocation such as highly trained professional athletes who possess this most valuable possession in life. This fact is very unfortunate as nearly everyone has the potential to become optimally healthy. Because 98+% are not optimally healthy, a totally new life strategy to achieve the most valuable possession in life (optimum health) is necessary. So let’s get started learning about the most important requirements to achieve optimal health. The first subject is attitude or emotional outlook on life in general. There is an old saying “attitude determines ones altitude in life.” Other words, attitude is the foundation from which all ells spring.

Mental attitude may seem like a relatively nebulous subject but when it comes to health, mental attitude forms the foundation of all we think, do and is one of the most powerful influences on our internal biochemical state. Yes! Attitude is perhaps the most powerful influence over internal biochemistry. A bad or negative attitude promotes acid formation which will contribute to a chronic acid state which has enormous negative health ramifications. In fact, negative emotions and mental turmoil can trigger internal acid formation faster that any other influence. For this reason, it is extremely important to manage our emotions by developing a positive attitude. One very effective way to maintain a positive mental attitude is to develop a positive self image in the minds eye. Focusing on this image when confronting emotional challenges can keep attitude on a positive course.

Develop a positive mental attitude/view of life
A positive attitude or mental state encourages favorable internal biochemistry which is profoundly healthier than a negative mental state. One of the best ways to develop a positive mental attitude is to consciously reframe things that could be perceived a negative in the positive. This is a very important skill and in most cases will require some special training. With proper training, one can control not only all incoming information but the general way we view the world and enjoy life. A comprehensive study and understanding of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) will teach us how to manage our thoughts and attitude for a healthier life. More about this later, for now we need to understand the attitude and view of life is profoundly important in our ability to slow the aging process and become optimally healthy. Another extremely important subject in the battle to slow aging and achieve optimal health is behavior and consumptive habits. 

Consumptive habits
Consumptive habits are thought by many experts to be the most important of all the age contributing influences. What is certain is consumptive habits are among the most important considerations in an effort to effectively manage the aging process. Proper consumptive habits can serve as a powerful corrective measure to manage or mediate other unhealthy behavior habits. While consumptive habits are one of the most powerful tools in managing or regulating internal biochemistry and the aging process, totally eliminating unhealthy behavior patterns which accelerate the aging process is best.

As mentioned above, consumptive habits are one of the most powerful tools in modulating internal biochemistry into a consistent optimally healthy range. Most if not all the bodies natural biochemical processes produces toxic waste much like the exhaust from a cars internal combustion engine. This exhaust is acid and extremely toxic to the human body. The trick to managing internal biochemistry is monitoring and effectively modulating internal acid or pH balance. Consumptive habits are among he powerful tools we can use to help counter this acid formation by favoring alkaline forming food consumption. Alkaline forming foods are nearly always natural, fresh, unprocessed fruits and vegetables. Green leafy vegetables and other naturally green foods rich in chlorophyll along with some citrus fruits (lemons, limes) tend to be the best performers when attempting to modulate internal biochemistry back into a slightly alkaline range.

The knowledge to effectively modulate internal biochemistry into a steady healthy slightly alkaline state is another extremely important skill required to achieve and maintain optimal health. It’s not enough to simply understand the power of natural foods but learn how and to what degree these different foods affect the body chemically and when to use them.

Because most fresh, natural, unprocessed foods possess properties still not totally understood by health experts, any processing including transportation and time can damage nutritional value. For this reason, wild, raw, fresh, unprocessed foods are nearly always nutritionally superior to any other commercially processed foods. This distinction may seem subtle but most can taste the difference immediately as high nutrition value foods usually looks, tastes and smells more appealing. Raw, fresh, organic, unprocessed foods always contain much higher nutritional value. Sense nutritional value conforms to brix (natural sugar) content; there is a fairly accurate way to measure the nutritional quality of foods without a chemistry degree. Again, specific education can put you in the drivers’ seat with respect to behavior and consumptive habits, foods, and how proper utilization of these powerful tools can result in better health even optimal health.

Supplements are essentially concentrated nutritional compounds. Supplements can be used to encourage favorable biochemical responses. The main difference between supplements and drugs is supplements encourage and drugs force biochemical response. Nutritional supplements can help resolve specific nutritional deficiencies and imbalances when used correctly. Supplements, work to support nutritional requirements and restore the bodies’ biological balance and ability to function properly (maintain health). It is important to note that the use of supplements alone is rarely the answer to serious ill health problems. Supplements are but another powerful tool in an effort to achieve internal biological balance (homeostasis). The true skill is the effective use of nutritional supplements not merely the random use because someone says supplements are healthy. The effective use of nutritional supplements to achieve optimal health is another very comprehensive subject but suffice to say a good understanding of nutrition and internal biochemistry is required to master this subject. 

Drugs are chemical compounds that force a specific biochemical response. Many people believe that prescription drugs can cure health problems such as illness and disease. Currently, conventional allopathic or mainstream medicine predominates. Allopathic medicine is a system of therapy based on the concept that illness and disease can be successfully treated and cured by forcing the body into biochemical balance. Nothing could be further from the truth. Again, drugs are designed to force biochemical change. While change is the intent, the desired change is rarely achieved. Drugs are essentially poisons in that they work against not with the body to force biochemical action with NO regard for natural balance (homeostasis). Sense optimal health is a state of biological balance and synergy, ingesting drugs/poisons is rarely an an effective part of a long term optimal health solution. It must be noted that drugs are not totally useless; they do serve a narrow purpose in specific, immediate life threatening situations. The currently problems with respect to prudent medical practice is profit/money is the primary goal and drugs serve that purpose not health by natural healing means and biochemical balance (homeostasis). Currently, most Americans over 50 years of age are not only taking prescription drugs, they are taking multiple medications which adds to toxic biochemical accumulation, resulting in rapid biological degradation, increases the chance of developing illness, disease and premature death.

It is equally important to understanding that most, if not all, illness and diseases are symptoms of toxic buildup at the cellular level and/or malnutrition. Symptoms of illness are sometimes called a “healing crisis,” or the body’s natural response to an intolerant level of toxins (toxemia). All drugs add to the systemic problem of toxic buildup which exacerbates the foundational problem or symptom of illness and disease rather than relieving it. In short, drugs can be a valuable tool short term to save a life, but add to ill health problems in the long term. If you are take any drug or drugs like many unhealthy people, the first goal should be to get off the drug as they are part of the problem not the solution and will result in ill health problem such as toxemia, acute acidosis, rapid aging, premature illness and likely life threatening disease.

Activity level
Movement is required to live, both physical and chemical. Even when the body is at rest, billions of internal biological functions are at work to sustain life. One of the problems with modern life is all the conveniences which tend to reduce activity encouraging sedentary lifestyles. The old cliché “if you don’t use it, you will loose it” is profoundly true. The body will not support that which it does not need. Perhaps the most profound fact about aging is, as more biological damage accumulates, biological functions are compromised, the ability to expel toxins degrades along with the natural ability to remain healthy. The inability to effectively remove toxic biochemical waste is perhaps the most accurate definition of aging. It is much more important to pay close attention to health details and stay active as we age not less important. When we are young, little biological damage has accumulated and energy levels are naturally high. As the years slip away, biological damage accumulates as active levels required to stay young fades which in turn significantly increases the aging process. This is the cascading biological degradation fact of life. Inactivity is the grim reaper, and eventually wins the battle as human life is not eternal. The last process of all life is death and the organic material of life is recycled.

Exercise is a critical component to vibrant health and longevity. It promotes vigorous respiration (oxygenation) and helps the lymph system remove biological waste more efficiently and significantly reduces toxic accumulation and chronic acidosis. Exercise not only serves to internally clean the body but encourages robust biological activity essential to strengthen, build and repair body tissues. The more active one is the healthier the internal biochemistry becomes, which dramatically improves general health. In short, exercise is the bodies’ supercharger and helps keep the body internally clean, young and vibrant. Activity is life, the total lack of activity is death. Remember, “if you don’t use it you will loose it.”

The type and amount of exercise necessary to achieve optimal health requires specific education, and in some cases personal coaching may be best. Age tends to reduce body resistance to all forms of stress, especially those bodies lacking adequate exercise. While the entire body needs regular exercise, it is extremely important to approach training with proper planning by increased intensity to improve not only robust biological activity but overall health.

Stress management
Stress, especially emotional stress has been described as the silent killer. While some stresses can kill other forms of stress can improve health especially when properly utilized. The distinction between deadly stress and beneficial stress can be subtle and specific knowledge is required to not only understand the differences but manage them for optimal healthy. Emotional stress tends to be the most health threatening by throwing the body into internal biochemical turmoil and imbalance more rapidly than any other influence. While emotional stress can be deadly, it can be very effectively managed with specific education and proper techniques. Physical stress is a kind of stress which can be our best friend when properly managed not only to restore and maintain optimal health but to slow the aging process. In short, stress is a double edged sword which must be properly managed to not only remain healthy but to live a long, happy and productive life.

Meditation is one of the most powerful ways to manage stress. Properly used, it quickly and effectively reduces stress and put the body back on a path toward biochemically balance. In the current high emotionally charged modern lifestyle, it is important to master simple meditation techniques. It might surprise you to know that certain types of meditation can be employed in almost any environment and circumstance. Again, the proper use of meditation requires specific knowledge and practice.

Putting it all together
This article has only touched briefly on a few of the most important subjects relating to designing an ultimate health program. Designing and anti-aging program requires a mastery of these subjects along with the discipline effectively implement it and stay the program course long enough to achieve optimum health.

Of course mastering the art of achieving optimum health and how to organize these skills into a habitual healthy lifestyle will require much more comprehensive education than provided in this article. This education will not only take time, and discipline to master but dedication to develop the skills of proper and effective application. Remember, creating anything of value requires effort, discipline and dedication. Since ultimate health is arguably the most valuable possession in life, any and all effort will yield handsome, even invaluable dividends.
