Alkalizing Secrets

Because the human body constantly pushes toward acidity as a result of all the biochemical activity requirements of life, effective internal biochemical management is the key to attaining and maintaining optimal health. It is critical to learn how to modulate internal biochemistry through the effective use of alkalizing foods and supplements. Below is an acid/alkaline forming foods chart to help one understand how foods affect internal biochemistry.

1. Avoid artificial sweeteners – The chemistry of artificial sweeteners are not only extremely acid forming but has been linked to a wide variety of ill health problems from allergies and head aches to cancer.
- Prudent health strategy – Avoid consuming any artificial sweeteners and switch to fresh fruit sweeteners or stevia (fresh, raw, organic is best). Fresh fruits are generally available at the local produce store and stevia can be grown in a back yard, herb garden in most temperate weather climates.

2. Consume citrus fruit in the morning – Citrus fruits like grapefruit, lemon and lime are not only powerful alkalizers, but they lend enormous support to the digestive process.
- Prudent health strategy – Consume fresh citrus fruit or juice in the morning, wait 15 minutes before eating a carbohydrate or protein to avoid mixing them.

3. Consume dark green leafy vegetables – Any green plant is high in chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is not only an excellent alkalizer, it provides a wide variety of additional health benefits including extremely high micro-nutrient (vitamins, minerals, enzymes - life energy) content density and is a powerful antioxidant.
- Prudent health strategy – Consume a minimum of 4 to 6 servings of vegetables daily (dark green are best).

4. Drink Alkaline (Ionized) or Distilled Water – Ionized (negative charged) water is one of the most powerful alkalizing agents in any health tool arsenal. Ionized water in enormously penetrating, meaning it not only alkalizes the body but it has extraordinary hydrating power as well. Therefore, alkaline, ionized water provides two enormously powerful health benefits (hydration & alkalization). Alkaline water is an excellent antacid for those who have occasional stomach acid. 
- Prudent health strategy – Drink one ounce of alkalized or distilled water for every two pounds of bodyweight daily to achieve healthy hydration and detoxification.

5. Eliminate or significantly reduce consumption of all red meats – All red meats are not only extremely acid forming but have very low water content and are difficult to digest draining energy reserves and increasing general biological stress.
- Prudent health strategy – Eliminate consumption of red meat, substitute with small amounts of chicken, turkey or fresh cold water fish (favoring fish - especially salmon).

6. Learn how to blend fruit and vegetable (smoothie) drinks – Because we are what we consume as it relates to our health, and raw, organic, freshly prepared, liquid fruits and vegetables are far more nutrient dense and bioavailable, learning how to make and utilize liquid foods are essential to any optimal health lifestyle. Liquid foods are one of the most powerful tools known to manage internal biochemistry, attain and maintain optimal health.
- Prudent health strategy – Consuming 1/2-1 quart of fresh blended fruit and vegetable liquid food daily to alkalize and provide proper amounts of high quality micro-nutrient (vitamin, mineral, enzyme, life energy) nutrition.

7. Reduce or eliminate all processed and refined foods – All processed foods are highly acidifying. Not only do they increase acid buildup, they are substantially devoid of health producing micro-nutrition (vitamin, mineral, enzyme, life energy).
- Prudent health strategy – Eliminate consumption of all processed foods. Substitute with at least 4 servings of raw, fresh, organic fruits and vegetables daily .

8. Reduce stress – Not only does stress acidify the body faster than any food, it tends to shut down the digestive system, which significantly reduces natural acid and toxin elimination.
- Prudent health strategy – When stress occurs, deep, diaphragm stretching breaths, meditation and yoga helps reduce stress quickly. While yoga requires a space to exercise, deep breathing and meditation can be done almost anywhere at any time. Exercise, deep breath and meditate frequently for better health.

9. Regular exercise program – Exercise increases respiration which not only reduces blood born carbonic acid but modulates the lymph system which significantly increases acid and toxin elimination and strengthens the entire body matrix including all vital organs. Exercise of any kind encourages better health. 
- Prudent health strategy – Exercise 3-5 times weekly for at least 10 minutes each training session. Cardio and interval/circuit training are very effective in producing dramatic metabolic improvements and optimal health results. Rebounding is best for lymph system modulation and rapid detoxification.

10. Reduce or eliminate all dairy product consumption – Homogenized cow’s milk and dairy are extremely acid forming. They not only excessively acid forming, they are one of the most mucus forming foods known. This mucus reaction is largely the result of allergic reactions to the chemical properties of milk and dairy products.
- Prudent health strategy – Switch from pasteurized cow’s milk to coconut or almond milk.

Acid Alkaline

The battle for health is over pH and the better a person manages pH the healthier that person well be. Currently, Americans largely eat for pleasure, with health being a distant consideration if at all. Because of the enormous damaging effects of biological and oxidative stress associated with highly processed, acid forming food consumption, it could be accurately stated that humans are literally eating themselves to death. This truism has shown repeatedly to be scientific fact, as the only proven way to increase lifespan in animals is through the Calorie Restriction, Optimum Nutrition (CRON) dietary regimen. In short, this simply means less and live healthier and longer...

One of the most important concepts people need to understand too efficiently manage internal biochemistry, attaining and maintaining optimal health, is that what is consumed exerts varying degrees of biological and oxidative stress on the body. Ultimate health is achieved when the body is absent any acid or toxic buildup and the exact amount of essential nutrition is consistently delivered. The alkalizing formula, reduces biological and oxidative stress to an absolute minimum which results in the slowest progression and allows the least amount of biological damage (aging) to accumulate.
